What would I be doing?
Responsible for leading the Commercial Finance team in the Americas region acting as the primary Finance business partner for the Commercial Americas team and preparing financial budgets and forecasts for the Commercial Americas. The incumbent also prepares monthly reports to senior Commercial management highlighting and reporting on variances from budget and prior forecast. This involves cross-functional internal collaboration with all departments of the organization. He/she also works closely with the corporate accounting organization to ensure proper expense recognition and compliance with internal controls.
Supports Business Partners on annual budget and long range forecast processes, as well as periodic forecast updates; ownership and management of the Commercial Americas budget and forecast.
Prepares Commercial Americas profit and loss (P&L) forecasts
Maintains close communication with financial leaders at the business unit and functional level to ensure timely understanding of risk factors that may impact forecasts.
Prepares, analyzes and distributes variance analysis reports focusing on key drivers to help articulate the story behind the numbers.
Owns the Americas revenue picture by product and country from market entry (review of distributor contracts and key terms) through to revenue recognition (working with the wider finance team to ensure the correct accounting treatment is applied)
Establishes and maintains insightful sales reports/dashboard for variance, royalty, rebate program, strategic analyses and management review.
Supports stakeholders with new market entry assessments and the financial analysis of possible routes to market
Maintains standard reporting tools to help identify key risks and opportunities.
Participates in finance system optimization to streamline data gathering processes for reporting accuracy and efficiency.
Supports financial and business controls and standards including, but not limited to: Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
Prepares all applicable management reporting, key performance indicators (KPI) and audit schedules.
Manages coaching and development of direct reports.
Supports special projects and ad-hoc analyses.
What would make me qualified?
Bachelors degree in an Accounting or Finance related discipline and a minimum of 7 years progressively responsible financial planning and analysis experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related environment.
Excellent accounting and financial reporting experience in an operational environment.
Demonstrated, hands-on experience performing modeling, forecasting and budget related activities.
Committed to the timeline-driven process associated with reporting deadlines, quarterly forecasts, and other ad hoc projects.
Analytical approach to job responsibilities with emphasis on process improvement and business relevancy.
Strong, working knowledge of the budgeting and forecasting processes
Demonstrated leadership ability and experience managing, coaching and mentoring direct reports.
Ability to influence without direct authority.
Global experience and understanding of operating dynamics.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as required, in a fast-paced, matrixed, team environment consisting of internal and external team members.
Analytical thinker with excellent problem solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

Masters of Business Administration (MBA).
Finance experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology or related industry.
Experience working with Oracle ERP and EPM products.
