Job Overview: This role will be primarily responsible for providing value-added decision support to the R&D organization at Rocket. The successful candidate will be providing expense management, budget and forecasting, product and project profitability analysis among other relevant analyses for in Rocket s product development organization. He/she will support related financial and corporate decision makers at all levels of Rocket including all senior leaders in the R&D organization. He/she will also work closely with management to meet their financial objectives. This position reports to the VP of Corporate Finance and is based in our office in Waltham MA.

Responsibilities:

Leads and directs the reporting of timely and accurate financial results (including expense budgets, forecasts and actuals), and preparation of financial information for Rocket. This includes preparation, review, and analysis of various financial reports and supporting schedules.
Provide written analysis on financial performance and variances for use by the senior executives and the CFO.
Leads the monthly, quarterly and annual required financial reporting for the functions within the R&D organization.
Communicates key information and data as well as the financial results versus plan or forecast to senior management and corporate financial management.
Develops value added analysis to better understand the financial and operational performance of the R&D organization.
Provide strategic financial consultation on business issues, assist in the evaluation of business development opportunities, and provide benchmark analysis.
Alert management to significant variances, their cause, and suggest corrective measures
Provide business insights to inform FP&A forecasting and budgeting process and own functional forecasts and budgets
Help drive innovation by actively seeking opportunities to simplify reporting and enhance delivery methods. Improve efficiency and effectiveness of finance activities through automation within the confines of available tools.
Mentor and train analysts
Required Experience
Bachelor s degree in Finance or Accounting
Minimum of 10+ years of Finance and / or Accounting experience
Strong written communication skills, including expertise writing explanatory documentation
High level of Excel knowledge including ability to write complex formulas, use pivot tables, and perform modelling
Proven efficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Access, and PowerPoint
Excellent organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to manage to tight deadlines, and prioritize workloads with a high degree of accuracy and minimal supervision in a fast pace environment
Demonstrated leadership abilities, strong interpersonal, analytical and communication skills with ability to interpret data, and provide relevant conclusions and recommendations
Self-starter with a take charge attitude
Plusses:

Master s degree in Finance, Accounting, or MBA
10+ years of experience in the planning and analysis field working closely with senior management
Prior enterprise/BI software experience, i.e. Oracle, Essbase, Hyperion PBCS, PowerBI, APEX.
