It is the responsibility of the Bartender to mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and provide them to guests and servers. The Bartender must ensure his/her outlet is clean, organized, and properly stocked at all times while providing excellent guest service. All duties are to be performed in accordance with federal, state, local laws, regulations, and ordinances, as well as department and Company policies, practices, and procedures. Demonstrate SHOW Basics for Guest Satisfaction Has complete knowledge of products and specifications. Provides Apprentices and Porters direction and coaching to ensure proper operation of the bar and assist them when necessary. Greet guests in a positive, friendly manner and make them feel welcome Mix and Serve drinks following standard recipes Sell and suggest premium and top shelf product, as well as specialty cocktails. Oversee overall operation of the outlet bar and lounge areas. Provides food service as needed. Ensure correct product is utilized. Rings beverages that are poured or served, collects payment, and follows all cash handling and variance procedures, including preparing daily reports and submitting appropriate paperwork. Clean of all equipment, tools, and supplies and maintain equipment in good working order. Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the bar. Re-fill ice coolers, garnish trays, straws and napkins. Stock the bar counter with supplies. Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available in the assigned outlet. Anticipate the guests needs and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency. Bid farewell to guests, using guests name when known, and encourage them to return. Work as a Team, assisting all guests and employees needs and inquiries. Maintain a level of professionalism that will make guests want to return to the Park MGM. Obtain assigned bank and ensure accuracy of contracted monies, keeping bank secure at all times. Keep count on tickets and perform cash drops at the end of the shift. Complete opening and closing side duties which include, but are not limited to: checking quality and amount of all bar stock and supplies through checklist; setting up bottles in display cabinet and speed rail; checking condition and cleanliness of blender, shaker and other tools; checking temperature of refrigeration units and glass wash machine. Communicate with Managers, Co-Workers and Guests in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and or other employees. Resolves guest complaints within scope of authority; otherwise refers the matter to management. Notifies supervisor and/or Security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged theft. Performs other restaurant duties as requested by management. Ensures that culture is embraced and upheld in accordance with Park MGM and 14 Grand Hospitality values Follows and executes the Roy Choi and Park MGM service standards as outlined in training. Further duties not currently listed in this outline may be added at the managers discretion. Provides apprentices and porters direction and coaching to ensure proper operation of the bar and assist them when necessary. Follow all procedures and policies set forth by the company, division and department. Follow all health and safety regulations. Successful completion of Restaurant Training Program and testing is required.
Required: High school diploma or equivalent Must be 21 years old A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a bar or similar environment Spirits and/or Mixology Certification A highly motivated and energetic personality Effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms
Preferred: Previous experience working in a similar resort setting
